This is a replica of the data storage device seen in The Force Awakens. It's the map that leads the resistance to Luke Skywalker. Poe gives it the BB-8 who carries it for most of the movie. When BB-8 gives it to the Resistance, the device loads a map. This object that I'm offering actually functions and does the same thing.
When you tap it to a NFC enabled device (like most android phones) it will automatically load an image/animation of the map from the film. Three animations rotate every 30 seconds, so each time you tap it won't be the same to add some variation. I've prepared a video demoing the function and explaining what I was thinking as I made this prop.

*** Here's an up close look of the metal version available in a second listing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bc3YyBKnZ5o
Although it looks metallic, it's made of polyurethane resin, and finished with metallic paint and an acrylic black wash. The photos represent how it looks in real life, with a bit of sparkle, and a brushed weathered metallic look.
The pouch is also available as an add-on to this item, so select the '+add leather pouch' option if you'd like that to be included for an additional fee.
The chip I'm using will work on almost all Android phones as long as NFC is enabled in your settings. For a very well maintained list of phones that meet the standard and will work with this chip, check out this link. It won't work on iPhones since Apple has restricted the use of NFC solely for Apple Pay so they can take even more of your money. It'll still be cool to show off to your friends on their phones.
